Coronavirus Antibody Test Distribution Deal Inked by MedMira, Webb Diagnostic

NEW YORK – MedMira announced on Wednesday that Webb Diagnostic Technologies will distribute its RevealCOVID-19 Total Antibody Test.

Webb Diagnostic has placed an initial order worth about C$3.5 million (US$2.5 million), Halifax, Nova Scotia-based MedMira added. Financial and other terms of the distribution agreement were not disclosed.

RevealCOVID-19 detects antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in serum, plasma, and whole blood, and unlike many other antibody tests, which detect only IgG and/or IgM antibodies, MedMira said its test detects all human immunoglobulins and can identify previous and present infection with the coronavirus.

"Webb Diagnostic Technologies has built an extensive sales and marketing team who will certainly drive our business forward," MedMira CEO Hermes Chan said in a statement. "As the demand for reliable SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing grows, this agreement is the first step in making our proven diagnostic platform available to more healthcare professionals."

Halifax, Nova Scotia-based MedMira develops vertical flow rapid diagnostics. Webb Diagnostic is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and develops diagnostic tests.
