NEW YORK – Danaher subsidiary Cepheid provided notice last week that it will lay off more than 600 employees from its Sunnyvale, California-based manufacturing center, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) report filed with the state of California on July 31.
The 626 employees will be laid off effective Sept. 27, 2024.
The firm is consolidating all of its US-based cartridge manufacturing activities to its high-tech manufacturing campus in Lodi, California, with some employees from the Sunnyvale manufacturing facility moving to the Lodi site, a Cepheid spokesperson said via email. There will also be additional hiring in Lodi, she noted.
The company will also lay off 11 employees from its East Bay Logistic Center in Fremont, California, the WARN notice said.
