Blood Collection Device Firm Seventh Sense Biosystems Raises $21M, Changes Name to YourBio Health

NEW YORK ─ Seventh Sense Biosystems on Wednesday announced that it recently raised $21 million in financing from Newpath Partners and its founding company, Flagship Pioneering, to support forthcoming product launches.

The Medford, Massachusetts-based developer of a push-button blood collection device also announced a name change to YourBio Health, saying the new name reflects its focus on putting health information in the hands of the individual.

The company said its technology enables the collection of a blood sample at home and receipt of test results via a secure website.

"Our plan is to give people access to their biological information in a way that gives them more control over their health decisions," Harry Wilcox, executive chairman of YourBio Health, said in a statement.

The company said on its website that its blood collection device uses microneedles and is activated using a single button.
