Bioneer Inks Deal With Qatar Petroleum to Supply Coronavirus Test Kits, Instruments

NEW YORK – Korean molecular diagnostics company Bioneer said on Tuesday that is has signed an agreement with Qatar Petroleum, a firm owned by the state of Qatar, to supply $4 million worth of molecular diagnostic instruments and kits for coronavirus testing to Qatar.

Under the agreement, Bioneer will supply 18 instruments, such as its ExiPrep 96 Lite nucleic acid extraction system and its Exicycler real-time PCR machine, as well as nucleic acid extraction reagents and COVID-19 test kits, which will be placed at medical institutions, including the medical services department of Qatar Petroleum.

Bioneer said it is supplying instruments and reagents for COVID-19 testing to several countries around the world. Last month, for example, the company announced a $1.9 million supply agreement with Romania.

The company's AccuPower COVID-19 Real-Time RT-PCR Kit and its AccuPower SARS-CoV-2 Real-Time RT PCR Kit received the CE mark earlier this year.
