Bio.logis, PGS.Holland Ink Distribution Pact for Genetic Diagnosis Software

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Bio.logis Genetic Information Management and PGS.Holland have entered into an agreement to market Bio.logis' Genetic Information Management Suite (GIMS) in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg (Benelux), Scandinavia, and the UK.

GIMS is a suite of tools that support diagnostic labs in managing their clinical content and allows them to automatically produce clinical reports and deliver results to physicians and patients through web-based applications, Thomas Lahlah, director of business development for Bio.logis, said in an email.

Bio.logis also offers GIMS.pharma, a version designed for pharmacogenetic diagnostics that includes all modules of GIMS in combination with ready-to-use content, making it a "turnkey end-to-end solution for pharmacogenomics," Lahlah said.

PGS.Holland will initially distribute GIMS.pharma in Benelux, Scandinavia, and the UK, with the intent to eventually market the entire GIMS suite.

"When initially reaching out to customers now [PGS.Holland] will focus on GIMS.pharma since this is where we currently see the strongest demand in Europe," Lahlah said. "If a lab turns out to require the regular GIMS setup or a single module, this will be possible as well."

Bio.logis, based in Frankfurt, Germany, said recently that it plans to launch two new analysis modules for its GIMS suite next year, as well as a pharmacogenomics mobile application called Pharma.sensor.
